Violent gales have dislodged three of the transplanted individuals

Four strong tides have struck the Ligurian coast in a few weeks and have dislodged from the seabed three of the four individuals that were transplanted last December in the waters of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Mortola, in the province of Imperia. At the moment, the specimens are dispersed. This was verified by researchers from the University of Genoa who immersed themselves for the usual monitoring check.

The individual who survived the force of the waves, however, is in good health. Researchers from Life Pinna are studying how to take action to cope with such intense and close weather-marine phenomena, and in the coming weeks, the transplant of new individuals is planned in areas at greater depths within the posidonia meadow.

In the video, the individual who resisted the high tides is shown.
