The final documentary of Life Pinna

Four years of work condensed into 20 minutes: “Stopping the Extinction. The Race Against Time to Save Pinna Nobilis” by Marco Tessaro, produced by Triton Research (ITA – 22 min – 2025), is the video that traces the genesis and development of the project dedicated to the largest bivalve mollusk in the Mediterranean.

A visual journey that captures the main stages of the work and efforts of Italian and Slovenian biologists to understand and combat the epidemic that has decimated Pinna Nobilis populations.

The video highlights the results achieved in recent years in the laboratories and animal facilities of the organizations involved, as well as the importance of individual citizens’ reports and the international collaboration of scientists working to ensure the future of the species. The documentary can be viewed in the dedicated section of the website and on the Triton Research YouTube channel.

The LIFE PINNA project (LIFE20 NAT/IT/001122 PINNA) “Conservation and repopulation of Pinna nobilis in the Western Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea” is implemented with the financial contribution of the LIFE programme of the European Union.
